Section A1 — Industry Sponsored Trials

A fee is charged for initial review, continuing review, and study-wide, sponsor-initiated amendments for industry-sponsored trials regardless of authorship of the protocol, company or IIT.

• If the study requires more than one continuing review in a year, only one fee will be collected for that year.
• If there is both a coordinating center application and a site protocol, the fee is only collected on the site protocol.
• There may be circumstances when the industry collaborator is not funding the entire study but is supporting it by providing only the drug/device. In this scenario, the investigator can request a waiver of the fee.
• The review fee is collected or waived by the Business Manager through an ancillary review process.
• Fee sheets should be uploaded into the PittPRO application on the Study Funding Source page under question #2, sub-question 4.

Fee Waiver       
      

If you are requesting a waiver of the industry fee, a written justification must be provided.  All requests must be submitted to the HRPO Business Manager at sak168@pitt.edu.
